Haven Starts Kindergarten!! (8/25/11)

Today was a BIG, BIG day in the life of Haven!! She has been so excited all week and the day is finally here! Here she is showing you her picks for a back pack and lunch box this year......
For some reason, I just could not get a good picture of her this morning, so I have a lot of pictures to show you of her so you can see why! First of all, she walked out and it was in the 40's and she was freezing, so that made her mad.....
Then after me coercing her to give me a good smile so we could be done, she does but for whatever reason, the top of the picture is foggy.....
So then we move out of the sun to get the glare off the camera and this is what I end up with...

OK so please go get my other camera!!! So we got the other camera but was now out of time for pics at the house so I'll just get more at school.
So we have 3 different kids at 3 different schools now so we are heading to drop off Mason and it occurs to me "I didn't get a picture of all 3 of you together"!!!! So here it is....
A quick, in the car shot (terrible!)...Haven is finally happy at this point!
So now we arrive at her school and I have to have a mommy shot
OK this one is pretty good as she's walking to the school, all decked out in Hello Kitty....
In front of her school, before being dropped at the playground.....
Then we run into Maddie, who lives up at the lake (who we forgot was going to kindergarten too) and come to find out, they are in the same class together...YAY! (they're not really good friends....some kids are a little harder to like than others ;o)
So her and Maddie walk through the drop off gates together...I had to stop her to tell me goodbye and get a hug and kiss.....

And she's gone! Life has officially changed for this little stay-at-home, do what-I-want to do, stay-up-late, sleep-in, eat-when-I-want-to-eat, little preschooler!!
Haven is an official school girl!
(And I didn't even cry!!) ....today that is

Look Ma..No Training Wheels!

On Friday, August 19th, Haven learned to ride without her training wheels with her big brother Mason's help!!

When I look at this picture and think about how she's growing up and starting school this week, I can't help but be reminded that she's gradually "riding away from us"..(tear!). But that is why God gave her to us...to teach her, train her, and prepare her for a life that honors Him!
So blessed to be her mom!
Go Haven Go!

Landon's First Game

This boy was ready to play some football!
A little practice with his siblings.....
And it all paid off! His first game was Saturday at Farmington, New Mexico and we won 20-6! He did very well for his first football game ever and made 2 tackles. He is the second one the right in the next picture....
He played center, right guard, and defensive tackle

We are so proud that he is enjoying this! Go Landon Go!!

Mason's Weekend in Denver

Last weekend, Mason went to Denver with his baseball coach and a couple of his friends to see the Colorado Rockies play. The pitching coach for the Rockies did a camp in Durango over the winter and gave them some tickets right behind home plate. Mason caught a homerun ball during warm-ups and he was on TV for the post game show. Here is the shot of him on TV....

They also went to the Denver Bronco's training camp to watch the players and got to meet some of the cheerleaders ;o)
Pretty exciting for a 13 year old!!!

Summer Updates

Wow! It's been a while since I have had the chance (or desire) to update this blog but my mom keeps asking for pics so here we go..............

Life has been incredibly busy the past month. I have been blessed with lots of cabins/houses to clean (cha-ching!) and am working a steady 15 hours a week on the computer with Derrico Computers. Mason's baseball season ended in July....the team he played with all summer came up short at the state tournament, although Mason pitched the best game he has ever played that last game. They took him out after 90 pitches in the 6th inning, and in the 7th inning, the other team came back and beat us! A travel team from Farmington, New Mexico asked him to play with them for the regional tournament so for 2 weeks, he practiced with them and played the regional tournament. They came in 3rd out of 13 teams and again, that team from Dallas, TX won it. So baseball is officially over and our team celebrated at the park with a BBQ (what we in the south call a cook-out).

Then, I had a little birthday on July 27th.....
Haven placed those candles (by the way)
And we celebrated by going to play putt-putt golf in Durango.

This was Haven's first time to ever play!

On top of this, vacation bible school started so every Tuesday for the past 5 weeks we have doing VBS for the children, and every Sunday night, for the teens. We had 30 kids the first 3 weeks and 20 or so the last two weeks and had a wonderful time together, learning who Jesus is, how He forgives, what all He can do for us, and all He needs us to do for Him! Here are some pics of our time together......

Our last day, we made a huge slip-n-slide and it was a blast!

Mason helping out with a water balloon game!

Yesterday at church, some of the kids shared bible verses and songs with the congregation along with a slide show of our fun and a puppet show by Landon. We started VBS with a puppet named Zeke and a girl from Arizona did it for us. She left after the 3rd week so Landon ordered himself a puppet and took over! He ordered a pirate so Zeke witnessed to him and he accepted Christ and changed from his evil ways during the process of VBS. His name is Captain Jack Hawk. As much as I hate to see myself on video, here is the clip from yesterday....this is for you NANA!

This next one of the song they did and Haven is all the way to the left....

And lastly, and very proudly, this little wolverine has been keeping us busy with football!
Go Landon!!! His first game is Saturday!! Can't wait!
