Central Alabama Christian Builders

The Central Alabama Christian Builders arrived on Saturday and Sunday, and what a blessing they have been! I love, love, love hearing them all talk!! I miss the southern dialect so much!! So they started early Monday morning and I am amazed at how much they have accomplished.....

DAY 1

DAY 2

DAY 3......

WOW! Most of this crew are done for the week and get to spend tomorrow on the train or doing some type of touristy stuff so it was kind of sad saying goodbye to them. We met some great people that we learned to love in a short amount of time. We are looking forward to meeting the next crew on Saturday. Thank you God for CACB!!!!

SonQuest Rainforest VBS 2010

Our theme this year for VBS is SonQuest Rainforest by GROUP Publishing. This is the first time I have ever done the decorations myself but I was very pleased with how it all turned out. This is the mural out in the tent.......
When God wants you to accomplish something, he'll equip you with the talent needed to get the job done. I never knew I could draw, and I can't free-hand anything but I can look at a drawing and copy it onto cardboard. I made all the animals (except the parrots that are hanging up) and the plants by drawing and cutting it out of cardboard. This is the fellowship hall where we have crafts and snacks.......

This is a tree in case you can't tell.....

Another tree....

Our kick off was a success with about 25 kids or so in attendence. These girls were so cute eating their cotton candy.....

And the bouncy house is always a hit....

Mike manned the cotton candy machine and oh my! It was all over him by the time he figured out how to do it right!

Our first day at VBS we had 28 kids and last week 27. Last year we started with 17 so we're hoping it will increase like it did last year. So far it's been great and we only have 6 more weeks of it left. The Central Alabama Chritian Builders will be arriving tomorrow and we are so excited to meet them and see the work God is going to do through them. Would you believe that we got the building permit just 2 days ago!??! God answered our plea for favor and everything that seemed impossible to accomplish before the 19th has been because of HIM! PRAISE BE TO GOD! I can't believe the time is here!

Day 5 & 6 with The Richardson's

Day 4 was recorded earlier (the 4-wheeling up Middle Mt) so I am going to combine 5 and 6 into one post. On Wednesday, we traveled to Mesa Verde National Park to see the ancient Pueblo Indian's Cliff Dwellings

We took a guided tour of Balcony House which included climbing tall ladders and squeezing through small places!

Robby made it through the first tight space with no problem.....

Can't say the same for Brenlee....OUCH! She bumped her head!

Below is a ceramonial kiva that Brenlee is in front of.......

Above is the kids before exiting through the tiny hole to get out.
And Robby didn't quite make it through this one as easy as the first! His legs got stuck!

Another ladder to exit out.....

If you are wondering if mom made the tour, the answer was no. This was her 2nd trip out here so she was content waiting on us at the museum.
On our way home, we passed an Elk farm and boy did this get Robby and Colton excited!!

While here, they saw many, many deer, elk, 2 wild boars, a marmot, geese, but no bear (thank God!).

So Thursday was their last full day with us so they went horseback riding. Isn't this a gorgeous picture???!
Faith is gearing up for her ride.....
Landon's riding Slim......
Colton at the Big Corral
Bren is our expert horse rider and her horse was named Wyatt

Haven got to take a pony ride at the corral while the others went up the mountain

That afternoon, we spent some time on the lake which was freezing!
Brenlee and Faith on the tube with a gorgeous background!

Mason and Haven...yay Haven!!

Our little stunt man Colton!!

Haven loves her Brenlee and Faith!

Me and Faith-a-roni!

They left out on early Friday morning and made it home around supper time on Saturday night.
To Robby, Patti, Colton, Brenlee, and Faith:
Thanks for one of the best weeks of our lives! I know it was a sacrifice to drive across the country to visit us so we can't tell you how much we appreciate it. We had so much fun experiencing Colorado with you and we'll cherish all the memories we made. I loved getting to spend time with my nephew and neices and it warms my heart to see the cousins laughing and enjoying one another's company. Thanks for bringing Mom to see us also. We love you guys and enjoyed every minute of your visit!!
To Mom: Thank you for making that long drive across the country AGAIN, for stuffing my pillows, helping with all the laundry, for being courageous and going on the 4-wheeler trip, and for all the wonderful food you cooked for us. We love you and can't wait to visit next month!
