California

Hello Everyone! We are currently in Mexico with cloudy skys, windy, raining off and on, and 60 degree temps....so we are inside today, relaxing and I thought I would take the opportunity to start my posts about the trip. Please humor me....all these pics are mainly for our moms who are curious to see what all we have been up to!
This was all of our first time in the state of CALIFORNIA......

I found the drive down pretty fasinating. It is so interesting to see the different terrains God gives us to look at. We got to see a cactus for the first time...I mean the kind that is very tall and has arms. We plan to get a picture with one on our way home. You are in the desert just about the whole trip but this next picture is the "real" desert and sand dunes......didn't get a very good picture though
Then before arriving in San Diego, there was very rocky terrain that was beautiful in such a unique way.......

We arrived at Kelly and Dave Good's house on Saturday afternoon to a warm 78 degrees....AND IT FELT SOOOOO GOOD! The kids tried out their pool (which was still too cold) and played on their big rocks....

This next picture is just for Mama Kaye.....Some of you may not know this about her, but she's always wanted a convertible Mustang so I wanted to take this picture to show her that her son was in one!
And what a cool way to get to the beach! Dave took the kids in the convertible to the beach and of course, they absolutely loved it! The decided they want to live in California now!

So we checked out the beached of San Diego which was a gorgeous site since I love the beach so much and have not gotten to spend much time on one in a long time. It was still pretty cool but it didn't stop the kids from playing in the water!

There were people surfing there but the waves were not very big on this day. Haven just ran back and forth into the waves and out. The sand is no where near as beautiful there as the beaches of Gulf Shores and Florida pandhandle. This sand was gray.

Mason and Mike throwing the football.
I'll pick up with the next post at Sea World. Tomorrow is the trip out deep sea fishing so we are praying that the wind dies down and they are able to go. Today's been a bummer for the kids but it's kind of nice to relax a little!
