MERRY CHRISTMAS!! (LORI)

It's here!! Christmas is here and we hope you have an awesome one!!

Just to get you caught up on what's been going on since Sunday......

We took Landon ice skating for his birthday. Although he has been twice before, he somehow thought that he is a professional skater and after falling 11 times, gave up and didn't want to do it any longer! I had the chance to finish up all the Christmas shopping. The rink in Durango was sooooooo cold compared to the one in Decatur at Point Mallard.

It is a fun experience so if you live near one, take your kids! Sunday night we went to a Christmas party outside, around a fire at my work out partner Sandi's home. It was cold but very beautiful and the chili and hot coco hit the spot! We sang Christmas carols and fellowshipped with some people in the Valley that did not go to our church. By the way, I didn't realize how many Christmas carols were out there......have you ever tried to sing them all!!????

Monday was Landon's birthday and he got a karaoke machine and electronic drums so all morning was spent very musically! We then had an outreach to the parents in the Valley on Monday by keeping their children while their parents shopped or wrapped presents or whatever. We had 7 children to come (not counting mine) so we felt it was successful. They played games, watched movies, and ate, and ate, and ate!

We are having a Christmas Eve service tonight at 6:00 but because there is a winter storm coming, the church body has urged us to go on to Albequrque, New Mexico today instead of after the service like we planned. It was a very hard decision because Mike really wanted to be present for the service because they say the church will be full of people that only come on Christmas and Easter, so it would have been an awesome opportunity to introduce Christ to them. Our flight leaves at 10:00 on Christmas Day. Fortunately, Bill and Joys Brooks are also flying out on Christmas Day so they are going to travel along with us which makes us feel much safer. I can't wait to see all of you!!!
Our plans for the week starts out on Thursday night with the Owen family Christmas. They so graciously put off their traditional Christmas Eve gathering to wait on us and for that, I am truly grateful! Landon was so afraid that everyone else would have opened their gifts and we would have missed it all. On Friday, the Richardson family will gather at Nuna's and have their Christmas gathering. My brother Robby and his family will spend the night on Friday and we will spend some extra time with them on Saturday. My kids absolutely love being with their cousins on both sides! I hope that love and friendship will last a lifetime for them.......
On Sunday, we plan to visit with our Grace family, have the boys a birthday party at the church, and then join our ex-small group on Sunday night. We are planning to spend the night in Cullman and work a little at our house on Monday. The rest of the week will be spent with family and on New's Year's Eve, we will get to spend time with Mike's aunts and uncles from Georgia. Gail and Scott.....get ready for "Big Booty"! HA!
We fly out on New Year's Day around 11:00 and I wish I could load everyone up and bring you back in my carry on! Anyway, the computer is staying here so this will be the last post until 2009!
Before leaving, I need to wish a few people a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.......

Jonathan Smith has a birthday on Dec. 26th and

Diane Hadley has a New Year's Eve birthday on Jan 31st! These are two of my co-workers at the Health Dept......Happy Birthday guys and I hope you don't have to work on those days!!

I don't have a picture of this next one but I want to wish a special Happy Birthday to an Owen Family friend ....LIZ JUNKIN!! Happy Birthday Ms. Liz on the 26th also!!

Please pray for us because the weather is pretty bad. It is snowing, and snowing, and snowing so pray for our safety on the roads and on the runways...
