As hard as this week has been, it has also been a precious week to us as our friends have tried to squeeze in as much time with us as possible. I want to say a special thank you to Jared and Chantelle Minor who invited us over for lunch last Sunday. They are leaving for a trip to Mexico today and were going to miss our last Sunday. The food was awesome guys!! We'll waiting on you to come visit for a little elk hunting!! We love you!
Above is the Bowman family: Bonnie, Kerianna, Kaylie, Shane and Stephen. They took us out to eat not one but two nights this week! Thank you so much for the meals but what meant more was the fact that you wanted to be with us. They are a rare and precious asset to Grace Community Church and have loved my children like they were their own. They are always willing to help out with everything and anything....true servants! We love you guys and thanks for all your help in preparing for this move!
Special thanks to my Dawnie (Wright) for the delicious Mexican Lasagne and Monkey bread she brought us last night. It was great! She is the next Rachel Rae!!
It is very sweet how even Mason and Landon's friends all tried to squeeze in that last time with them. They got invitations left and right and even had to turn several down. To these two women below, I will be eternally grateful. This is Diane Whitehead and Karla Scott.
Their oldest sons started kindergarten with Mason and have been friends with him for the past 6 years. Then their other children developed friendships with Landon and Haven. We have spent field trips together, baseball/basketball games together, and many a school party together. On Friday night, they gave Mason and Landon a going away party at Baileyton park and invited their classes. On our way, Mike was reminding us that the thought of this party was so nice, not to be disappointed if not many were there.....we rounded the corner and their were 30+ kids there!!! It just touched my heart! Diane even put together a book for both of them with a picture of each child in their grade, their address/phone/email, and a message as well as from all their teachers and principal. Priceless!! Words can not express how grateful I am to you, Diane and Karla, for giving them that night...
Children come and go at Parkside School all the time and while we expected our church to miss us, it was a humbling to see how the boys would be missed. SO many staff members at Parkside has told us that they were not going to let them go and that they will be missed, and how they will be an asset to their new school. I never expected anyone to even notice we were gone from there because we are not really that involved. Humbling ... Everyone has been asking how the boys are feeling and I can say that they have not been crying or saying much. Right now, they are living in the moment, enjoying times with their buddies. While they make comments about not wanting to go and "hating" Colorado, they do have a small sense of excitement about the snow and what's ahead.
This is Landon with some of his second grade buddies: Carter Beam, Joseph Harbin, Anna Scott, Kaitlyn Shed, and Carlie Pope. Where was Tanner Whitehead?? I just realized that he didn't make the picture!
These are also known as "The Three Muskateers"...Landon, Carter, and Joseph.
This is a huge portion of Mason's 5th grade classmates. Too many to name but I did get a picture with some of his best buddies: Hunter, Austin, Seth, and Noah. He will miss playing basketball you guys this year! Noah gave him a Parkside shirt with his basketball number on it to remember them by.... GO PARKSIDE!!
